Today I am struck with an intense need to patch, update and upgrade.

Drupal has been updated on home and www.

Apps on the iMac are being updated.

OS X 10.5 is nearly arrived to the inbox at work and I will be moving to Leopard shortly after it arrives. The only concern I have on that front is that I am using ACL's to allow Rach and I to share the same music collection - I hope that doesn't break.
You would think that most families would want a way to have a nice and clean consolidated music collection... I am thinking of the idea that the meta data of "you added new music" to be propagated to everyone and then have a separate database for all the personalizable stuff like ratings, last listened to, etc.

It is just plain common sense that I will be doing a nice big fresh backup of all our data before I even think about starting this :)

Did you know that June 30th is supposed to be a full moon? How cool is that random coincidence?

Some years you can just really dislike some policy decisions.

Like the decision to have Daylight Savings Time happen 3 weeks earlier. The combination of cold and dark is enough to drive you mad. Now imagine if you *finally* were seeing daylight when you got up in the morning only to have to reset for *3 weeks!!!!* so you can experience the coming of the morning light AGAIN!

It has been hard to wake up in the morning for the past 3 weeks or so....

And the bonus of having daylight to 9pm is wasted when you are too grumpy from getting up in the pitch black...

The Yukon Quest (warning early 2000's web design ahead) starts tomorrow in Whitehorse - 1600miles of sledding to Fairbanks. Fun Fun.

The Marsh Lake Loppet is tomorrow and I am doing the 20km distance (x-country ski race for you non-skiers out there)

The 50km Buckwheat (and end goal for the ski season is in 4 weeks and counting)

It's finally cold again (been above 15 for quite a while now and finally going down to the 20's). I have been walking around with *no gloves* for a week or two now!!
